Hendersonville JVs hold off Polk in second half to take victory

Hendersonville built a 27-14 halftime lead and held off Polk County’s second-half rally for a 45-36 victory in Friday’s Western Highlands Conference junior varsity boys basketball action at Polk.

The Bearcats (8-6) outscored the Wolverines 18-8 in the second quarter to take control. Polk County (2-11) outscored Hendersonville 22-18 in the second half but couldn’t complete the comeback.

Brennan Oates led the Wolverines with 14 points. Dre Thompson added eight, Keyan Simpson scored six, Carlos Oliviera finished with four and RJ Simpson and Jackson Blotner each added two.
