Quick start helps push Mitchell past Polk JV boys

Mitchell raced to a 20-5 lead Friday and went on to hand Polk County’s junior varsity boys a 48-27 setback iin Bakersville.

Polk County dropped to 3-11, 0-4 with the loss.

Kris Littlejohn and Kanye Staley each had seven points to lead Polk County, with William Simpson adding six. Mackus Simpson had three points, with Mark Teague and Amner Contreras each adding two.

The Wolverines are back in action on Tuesday, hosting Mountain Heritage.
