Bessemer City JVs surge early, down Polk County

Bessemer City built a 35-12 halftime lead and defeated Polk County 53-27 in Friday’s junior varsity boys basketball action at Polk.

The Yellow Jackets led 21-6 after the first quarter and maintained control throughout.

Jackson Blotner led Polk County (1-8) with nine points. Carlos Oliviera added eight, Keyan Simpson scored five, Jonathan Sokil finished with three and Lawson Marion had two.
