Polk County will head to East Rutherford on Tuesday in the opening round of the state 2A softball playoffs, according to official brackets released Monday by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.
The Wolverines (13-8) received the 19th seed and will face the 14th-seeded Cavaliers (16-7) at 6 p.m. Tickets for all playoff games are $6, and the only passes accepted for students or adults are NCHSAA passes.
The two schools met in the 2014 state playoffs at East, with the Cavaliers eliminating Polk County on their way to the state 2A championship. The Wolverines avenged that setback with a regular-season win last year, also at East.

Senior pitcher Savannah Davis, a Lenoir-Rhyne signee, leads East Rutherford.
With a win, Polk County could face conference rival Madison in the second round.
