Freshman Autumn Owen belted her fifth homer of the season, setting a new single-season school record. Owen broke the old mark first set by Rachael Haynes-Wood and then tied last season by Hayley Kropp.

Kropp had two hits and four RBI in the win. Maranda Gosnell and Kassidy Reynolds also had two hits.

“We had sixteen hits as a team and had two excellent defensive plays by Hayley Kropp and Maranda Gosnell to back up Scruggs’ dominating performance,” said Polk County head coach Jeff Wilson.

The junior varsity game ended in a 9-9 tie.
