Polk softball ups victory streak to six with win at Asheville

Polk County ran its winning streak to six games on Wednesday, defeating Asheville 7-2 in non-conference softball action in Asheville.

Hayley Kropp had three hits and Alexis McCraw and Ashley Kropp each had two hits to lead the Wolverines, who improved to 9-2 heading into Thursday’s Western Highlands Conference matchup with Hendersonville. That game is slated for 4 p.m. at Polk County.

McCraw had a two-run single to highlight a four-run first inning as the Wolverines took an early lead and never trailed.

Freshman Ashley Scruggs earned the win, allowing seven hits and striking out seven.
