Polk County’s offense roared to life Friday, the Wolverines pounding out 16 hits en route to a 17-0 win over Mitchell in Western Highlands Conference softball action in Ledger.
The Wolverines (5-1, 2-1) scored all 17 runs in the first three innings of the five-inning game.
Autumn Owen finished 4-for-4 with two triples to lead Polk County’s attack. Ansley Lynch was 3-for-3 with three RBI and a double while Maranda Gosnell and Ashley Scruggs each had two hits, with Gosnell notching two doubles. Hayley Kropp added a homer and two RBI and Hanna Emory had a single and two RBI.

The Wolverines return to action on Monday, traveling to North Henderson for a non-conference game.
