Brevard ekes out conference win over Polk boys

Brevard survived a big scoring night from Dominique Carson Monday and held on to defeat Polk County 60-57 in a Mountain Foothills 7 Conference boys basketball battle in Brevard.

Carson finished with 34 points, but the Blue Devils (5-8, 3-4) outlasted the Wolverines (6-10, 0-8) and kept Polk winless in conference play.

Kris Littlejohn added eight points for the Wolverines, with Vincent Twitty scoring six and Isaiah Spears scoring five.

Wayne Carson added four points for Polk County, which returns home Thursday for a non-conference matchup with East Henderson. Tipoff will be around 7:30 p.m. and the game will air on NFHS Network.
