Polk County earned Thursday night its fifth consecutive win, rolling past Mitchell 25-6, 25-6, 25-16 in Western Highlands Conference volleyball action in Bakersville.
Kara Overholt had 28 assists, five kills, eight digs and four aces to lead Polk County (5-2, 2-0). Kendall Hall had 20 digs, while Lily Owens had five kills and Sarah Phipps had 10 kills and nine digs. Reagan Waddell added seven kills and four aces.
The Polk County junior varsity were also winners on Thursday, downing Mitchell 25-13, 25-17.

Polk County returns home on Tuesday to face Avery in another WHC matchup. Varsity play is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m.
