Nights like Tuesday certainly won’t hurt.

The Wolverines (12-5, 8-1) notched a 25-8, 25-8, 25-12 win over Mitchell, dominating throughout all three sets in winning for the third time in their last four outings. Mitchell dropped to 1-9 overall, 1-7 in WHC play.
“It was a good conference win,” Corhn said. “On nights like this I tell the girls we have to play our game, play our speed and not let up. I’m proud of them for doing that.”
Six different Wolverines had at least four kills in the match, including setter Kara Overholt, who had eight kills while spending some time as a hitter. Overholt had 20 assists, nine digs and two aces as well. Lily Owens and Sarah Phipps each had six kills, with Reagan Waddell adding five and Ashley Love and Cameron Capozzi each adding four. Phipps had five aces, with Savannah Ross adding three aces and six digs.
“These next few weeks we need to get some solid wins,” Corhn said. “We need to start preparing ourselves mentally for the end of the season and the playoffs.
“I want the girls to feel really confident, that they have support from each other and from the coaches, especially going into the playoffs. I want to them to feel confidence when they’re on the court.”
Polk County travels Thursday to Avery for another WHC match before returning home next Monday to host Chase in a non-conference match.
