Wolverine volleyball sweeps past Mountain Heritage for road win

Polk County outlasted Mountain Heritage in a tough first set and went on to post a 3-0 win over the Cougars on Thursday in a Western Highlands Conference volleyball match in Burnsville.

The Wolverines (11-5, 6-1) notched a 26-24, 25-13, 25-20 victory. The Cougars dropped to 7-6 overall, 4-4 in league play.

Sarah Phipps had 19 kills for Polk County, which Lily Owens recording 10 kills and 10 digs. Ashley Love had five kills and seven digs, with Cameron Capozzi adding three kills and Kendall Hall posting 23 digs and two aces. Senior Kara Overholt had another solid all-around game with eight kills, 36 assists, 17 digs and two aces.
