Polk County began a new winning streak on Thursday, picking up a road non-conference win with a 3-0 sweep at Kings Mountain.
One night after Brevard ended the Wolverines’ six-game victory run, Polk bounced back with a 25-9, 25-20, 25-14 win.
Sarah Phipps had 13 kills, Lily Owens added eight kills and Kara Overholt had eight kills to pace Polk’s offense, which also got three kills from Ashley Love.

Overholt added 24 assists, 15 digs and three aces on a night when digs abounded. Love had six digs, Kendall Hall had 20, Owens had 11, Phipps had 12 and Savannah Ross added nine. Owens also had two aces.
The Wolverines (7-3) return home Monday to face the WNC Trailblazers in another non-conference match.
