Polk County’s junior varsity volleyball team scored a Western Highlands Conference victory Tuesday, sweeping Mitchell 25-14, 25-20 in Bakersville.
The Wolverines controlled the opening set before holding off the Mountaineers in a closer second set to finish the two-set victory.
Alia Vorbe led Polk County at the net with 13 kills and added seven digs and two aces. Camdyn Israel-Garrett finished with 11 assists, 10 digs and three aces.
Lily Holt led the Polk defense with 18 digs, while ScottLynn Whiteside added six digs and three aces.
Polk County improved to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in Western Highlands Conference matches. The Wolverines travel to West Henderson on Wednesday
