Polk County gave perennial power West Henderson all the fight it could muster Tuesday night, taking the Falcons to five sets before falling 3-2 in the volleyball season opener for both programs at West Henderson.
The Falcons earned a 25-27, 26-24, 26-24, 16-25, 15-9 win.

Polk County is back in action Wednesday night, hosting Brevard in its home opener. Junior varsity play begins at 4:30 p.m., with the varsity to follow.
