Polk volleyball dominates Madison in conference opener

Polk County got off to a good start Thursday in Western Highlands Conference play, romping past Madison in straight sets in WHC volleyball action in Marshall.

The Wolverines rolled to a 25-7, 25-11, 25-9 win in their conference opener. The Polk junior varsity also emerged victorious, earning a 25-10, 25-17 victory.

Kara Overholt had 27 assists, 11 digs and six aces for Polk County. Ashley Love had 11 kills, Sarah Phipps had seven kills and Cameron Capozzi had six kills. Lily Owens had 11 digs and Kendall Hall had 20 digs for the Wolverines.

Polk County is back at home on Tuesday, hosting Mountain Heritage. Varsity action is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m.
