Polk County moved Thursday into the third round of the state 1A volleyball playoffs, downing Robbinsville in straight sets in a second-round clash at Polk.
The Wolverines (18-3) will next host Christ The King on Saturday at noon. The Crusaders (18-8) swept Hiwassee Dam on Thursday to earn their weekend trip to Columbus.

Polk notched a 25-17, 25-11, 25-18 victory, doing so in typical manner. The Wolverines relied heavily on four-year starters Mia Bradley, Sophia Overholt and Morgan Yoder, each notching double-digit kills in the triumph.
The Wolverines never trailed in the match until the opening point of the third set. Robbinsville (17-10) inched out to a 12-10 advantage midway through the final set, but Polk scored nine of the next 13 points and soon closed out the match.
Overholt had 15 kills and 12 digs, with Bradley recording 13 kills and 12 digs. Yoder finished with 10 kills, five digs and four blocks.
Kylie Lewis added six kills, with Charley Dusenbury posting 40 assists and 10 digs. Hayden Blackwell had nine digs and Lexi Beiler finished with seven.
Saturday’s matchup could be the final home game of the playoffs for Polk if the seeds hold elsewhere in the bracket. Christ The King, seeded sixth in the 1A West bracket, is led by juniors Olivia Thorne and Caroline Tuschong and sophomore Anna Filiault. The Cruasders will enter the third-round clash having won six of their last seven matches.
