Hendersonville tops Polk County in conference volleyball showdown

Hendersonville handed Polk County its first conference loss, downing the Wolverines in straight sets on Thursday in a Western Highlands Conference showdown in Hendersonville.

In a matchup of conference co-leaders, Hendersonville (12-1, 6-0) rolled to a 25-22, 25-16, 25-19 win, dropping Polk County to 9-4 overall, 5-1 in conference play.

Sarah Phipps had 11 kills and 13 digs to lead Polk County, with Lily Owens adding six kills and 12 digs. Kara Overholt had five kills, 27 assists and nine digs, with Ashley Love adding four digs. Kendall Hall had 26 digs for Polk.

The Wolverines return home Tuesday to host Madison.
