Polk County opened its 2021 season Monday just as it ended its shortened 2020 campaign – with a win over Hendersonville.
The Wolverines returned to action for the first time in a year and picked up a 12-4 road win over the Bearcats in the season opener for both teams.
Amberlyn Scruggs pitched a complete game and also went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Polk County.
The Wolverines are scheduled to return to the diamond on Tuesday, traveling to East Henderson for a 6 p.m. game.
