
Polk County suffered a 17-1 home loss Wednesday to Mountain Heritage in the regular-season softball finale for both schools.
The Wolverines dropped to 5-8, 4-6 with the loss.
Polk County finished the season as the top 1A school in the Western Highlands Conference, earning an automatic playoff berth, and will find out its first-round opponent on Saturday. With eight No. 1 berths in the 1A West, the Wolverines are guaranteed of a first-round home game. The 1A playoffs begin on Monday.
The Wolverines got their lone run on a Katelyn Arrowood homer to left-center.
Mountain Heritage ends its season with an 8-2 record.
