Polk County is ranked eighth in the latest North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association state 2A girls soccer poll, released Sunday.

The Wolverines (3-0) are joined by No. 11 Franklin as the only Western North Carolina teams in the poll.

Carrboro is ranked first, followed by First Flight, West Stokes, Dixon and Salisbury.

Polk County is scheduled to be in action on Monday, traveling to Mountain Heritage for a Western Highlands Conference match.
