Five Wolverines earn all-region soccer honors

Five Polk County players have been named to the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association All-Region 11 2A squad.

The Wolverines, who won the Western Highlands Conference regular-season title and reached the third round of the state 2A playoffs, grabbed five of the 20 spots on the team.

Those receiving all-region honors included:

  • Rhian Alley
  • Sammie Firby
  • Ashley Love
  • Daisy Mondragon
  • Kara Overholt

Also selected to the team were:

Hendersonville: Alison Hafner, Breanna Kirk, Julia Michaels, Kelsie Wallace

Franklin: Alyviah Holland, Gracie Hornsby, Lexi Kloeppel, Cassidy Zemmin, Holly Sapp

Madison: Indigo Hollister, Elissa Hurley, Izzy Patterson, Hannah Sawyer

Brevard: Alyson Pagano

Owen: Amber Moss
