Polk places three on All-WNC girls soccer squad

Three Polk County players have been named to the All-Western North Carolina girls soccer squad by the Citizen-Times in Asheville.

Recent graduate Gabby Savaia, rising junior Reeve Carroll and rising sophomore Leah Savaia were chosen for the All-WNC first team after leading the Wolverines to a 16-3-4 record and the 3A state quarterfinals.

Hendersonville’s Reagan Adams was named the WNC Player of the Year while Bearcat coach Melisa Villars-Nitsche earned Coach of the Year honors.

Coincidentally, Henderson County Schools posted a job opening on June 1 for the Hendersonville head coaching position for the 2026-27 school year.
