Polk County records historic 3-2 win over T.C. Roberson

Ellese Cash scored two goals and Kara Overholt had seven saves Thursday night as Polk County defeated T.C. Roberson, 3-2, marking the first team in school history that the Wolverines have defeated the Rams.

Szonja Pinter added a goal as Polk County, ranked eighth in this week’s state 2A coaches’ poll, improved to 5-2.

T.C. Roberson won the junior varsity game, 6-1, with Elena Preston scoring the lone goal for Polk County.

The Wolverines are back in action on Monday, hosting Avery at 6 p.m. in a Western Highlands Conference matchup.
