Clements, Overholt named players of the week for playoff efforts

Polk County soccer players Megan Clements and Kara Overholt have been named the PolkSports.com/Bradley Screen Printing players of the week for their efforts in the Wolverines’ two playoff wins.

Clements scored two goals in Polk County’s wins over Wilkes Central and Shelby, the latter a 2-0 victory in which the sophomore accounted for all the scoring.

Overholt allowed just one goal in the two games and made several key saves against Shelby, including one stop that head coach Lennox Charles called the key to the match. The junior is in her first year of playing soccer for Polk County.
