Polk County celebrated Senior Night with a victory, shutting out Avery 4-0 on Thursday in its regular-season finale at Wolverine Stadium.

The Wolverines (14-3, 11-1), Western Highlands Conference champions, got two goals from Sammie Firby in the win. Hanna O’Brien and Ashley Love also scored for Polk County, with Mirian Santibanez, Love and Sarah Phipps recording assists.

Kara Overholt had three saves for Polk, which will now wait for Saturday’s 2A state playoff bracket announcement to find out who they will host in the first round of the postseason.

Avery ended its regular season 9-9 overall, 6-6 in WHC play.
