Hendersonville upsets No. 4 Wolverines, stops Polk streak at eight
Hendersonville scored a pair of second-half goals Wednesday to upset No. 4 Polk County and end the Wolverines’ eight-game winning streak with a 2-0 win in Hendersonville.
The Bearcats (7-5, 6-1) got goals from Marrieta Melendez and Julia Michaels to also hand Polk County (9-3, 3-1) its first conference loss.

Ranked fourth in this week’s North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association poll, Polk County returns to action on Friday, hosting Mountain Heritage at 5:30 p.m.
