Reeve Carroll scored three goals and added two assists Wednesday to lead Polk County to a 6-0 victory over Avery in Western Highlands Conference play at G.M. Tennant Stadium.
The Wolverines struck twice in the first half and added four more in the second to complete the shutout and remain in first place in the WHC standings.
Polk County opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Carroll sent a pass to Charley Dusenbury on the left wing. Dusenbury fired from the top of the six-yard box into the right corner of the net.

Carroll added her first goal five minutes later, dribbling through three defenders deep into the box before hitting a drive that caught the bottom of the crossbar and bounced in.
The Wolverines then caught fire late in the second half. Polk extended its lead in the 63rd minute when Kenley Savaia took a throw-in on the right wing and passed to the middle of the field to Gabby Savaia, who flicked a perfect pass to a wide-open Carroll in the penalty area for a hard drive into the net.
Carroll completed her hat trick four minutes later. Gabby Savaia gained control of the ball high above the penalty area and sent a spot-on pass to Carroll cutting in from the left wing. She scored from roughly 10 yards out.
Gabby Savaia capped the scoring in the 68th minute. Carroll played a long pass down the left wing to Gabby, who ran past the defense, cut back around a defender, dribbled deep into the penalty area and bent a shot inside the far post.
Polk County improved to 12-2-4 overall and 10-0-1 in conference play. Avery fell to 9-9 overall and 1-9 in conference play.
The Wolverines host Landrum in a non-conference match Thursday at 6 p.m.
