No. 11 Wolverines down Madison for third straight victory

Polk County’s girls soccer squad continued its winning ways Thursday night, rolling past Madison 5-1 in Western Highlands Conference girls soccer action at Wolverine Stadium.

Ellese Cash scored two goals for Polk County (12-3, 6-1), which won its third straight match. The Wolverines, ranked 11th in this week’s state 2A coaches poll, travel Friday to Avery in their final game before spring break.

Ashley Love, Megan Clements and Elena Preston each scored goals for Polk, which led 4-1 at halftime. Sarah Phipps and Lyric Flood each had two assists, with Cash and Love adding assists.
