Brevard tops Polk girls in non-conference battle

Despite a record-setting night by Polk County’s Hayley Kropp, Brevard earned a 50-39 win Thursday in a non-conference girls basketball battle in Brevard.

Kropp, who became the school’s career scoring leader in the game, finished with 23 points, seven rebounds and four steals as the Wolverines dropped to 1-2 entering Friday’s home game against Landrum.

Ansley Lynch had four points and seven rebounds while Autumn Owen had four points and six rebounds. Bella Marino scored four points and Kendall Hall and Mariah Overholt each added two points.
