As of now, basketball season has come to an end in Polk County.

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association released state basketball playoff brackets on Saturday and neither Polk County squad qualified for a postseason berth.

While Polk County’s boys failed to qualify for the 2A playoffs, three Western Highlands Conference teams did – Owen is seeded eighth and will host Thomasville, Mountain Heritage is seeded 16th and will host Hunter Huss and Hendersonville is the 32nd and final seed in the 2A West bracket and will face undefeated East Lincoln in the first round.
