Polk County flashed some offensive prowess, but dropped a 5-3 decision at North Henderson on Monday in a non-conference boys soccer match.

Jeremy Allsbrook and Wil Rimer each had a goal and assist to lead Polk County in its season opener. Isaias Akers scored the Wolverines’ other goal, with Ewan Pratt adding an assist.

The Wolverines trailed 3-0 at the half, then rallied to even the score at 3-3 before North Henderson got two late goals for the win.

Polk County is back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Smoky Mountain for a 7 p.m. matchup before returning Thursday for its home opener against West Henderson.
