Polk County senior Wil Rimer has been named the Western Highlands Conference boys soccer player of the year, with head coach Lennox Charles named the conference coach of the year.
Charles guided Polk County to a 17-5-1 record this season, a Western Highlands Conference championship and the third round of the state 2A playoffs. It marked the first time that Polk County had reached the third round at the 2A level.
Rimer scored 40 goals, narrowly missing the school record of 42. He had five hat tricks this season.
Five senior Wolverine teammates joined Rimer on the all-WHC squad, including Jeremy Allsbrook, who set a school single-season record with 30 assists and also set a new school record for career assists. Also named to the team were Garrett Weicker, Nate Smart, Tom Artmeier and Brad Blackwell.
Madison’s Max Gardner was named the conference goalkeeper of the year.
