Polk County battled West Henderson on nearly even terms Thursday in its home opener, but the Falcons slipped away with a 2-1 win over the Wolverines in a non-conference junior varsity boys soccer match.
The Wolverines (0-3) got a goal from Gustavo Bautista in the loss.
Next up for Polk County is a home match Monday against East Lincoln, slated to begin at 4 p.m.
