Polk County’s Dan Dougherty

Polk County will host Langtree Charter Academy on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the second round of the state 1A boys soccer playoffs.

Langtree (13-10-1) defeated Union Academy 2-1 in Wednesday’s opening round, advancing to face the top-seeded Wolverines (19-2).

The Lions are led by freshman Ayman Maddir, who has scored 20 goals with 15 assists this season. Langtree lists 25 different players who have scored goals during their 24 games.

Polk County’s volleyball team also faced Langtree Charter in its opening match of this season’s playoffs.
