Edwards named 1A all-state, region player of year by N.C. soccer coaches

Polk County senior Isaac Edwards and a group of Wolverine teammates earned a handful of postseason awards from the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association.

Edwards, who led Polk County with 25 goals, was named to the NCSCA 1A All-State team as well as being named the NCSCA Region 10 1A Player of the Year.

Polk County head coach Josh Trejo was named the NCSCA Region 10 1A Coach of the Year after leading the Wolverines to a 19-3 record and the Western Highlands Conference regular-season championship.

Three other Polk County players were named to the NCSCA Region 10 1A All-Region team, those being Grayson Jones, Nicolas Lopez and Sean Hudson.
