Late tallies lift West Henderson past Polk County

West Henderson scored a pair of late goals Wednesday to hand Polk County a 3-1 setback in a non-conference boys soccer match in Mills River.

The Falcons (2-1-1) grabbed an early lead, but Polk County (0-2) answered in the second half on a goal by Charlie Jackson.

But a pair of yellow cards left the Wolverines playing a man down, and the Falcons capitalized by scoring twice in the final 15 minutes.

Greyson Ball had 15 saves for Polk County, which returns to action Wednesday in its 2021 home opener, a 7 p.m. matchup with Franklin.
