
Polk County made certain Crest wouldn’t get any whiff of an upset Thursday, building an early lead and handing the Chargers a 7-1 defeat in boys soccer action at G.M. Tennant Stadium.
The Wolverines (6-1) steadily fashioned a 5-1 advantage before a pair of Matias Akers goals late in the second half accounted for the final margin.
Crest dropped to 0-5-1.
Grayson Jones and Isaac Edwards also both scored two goals, with Sean Hudson also landing in the scoring column. Akers, Jones, Edwards and Cole Pereira each had two assists. The Wolverines had 28 shots on goal in the match.
Greyson Ball finished with four saves for Polk, which travels Monday to face East Rutherford.
