Polk boys tire late, fall to Landrum

1 min read

Landrum steadily pulled away from a tiring Polk County squad, earning a 74-55 win Tuesday in non-conference boys basketball play at Polk County.

The Wolverines (0-4), who suffered an 89-42 loss to Landrum on Friday, more than held their own in the first half of Tuesday’s return battle, trailing just 38-34 at the half.

But Polk County “ran out of gas late,” according to head coach Josh McEntire, allowing Landrum to improve to 3-1 this season. The Cardinals outscored Polk 23-8 in the third period to take command of the game.
