Five Polk County boys and girls basketball players have been named to the all-Western Highlands Conference basketball teams for the 2014-2015 season.
Wolverines’ Jamal Wheeler and Jason Chupp were chosen for the boys team while Hayley Kropp, Kara Overholt and Sarah Phipps earned spots on the all-WHC girls squad.
Mountain Heritage’s Destiny Elkins was named the all-WHC girls player of the year for the second straight year, with Heritage head coach Susie Shelton also named the coach of the year.

Avery senior James Stewart was named the boys player of the year, with Avery coach Scott Polsgrove named the league’s top coach after guiding the Vikings to a perfect conference record for the second straight year.
