Second-half surge carries Cougar JV boys past Wolverines

Mountain Heritage held Polk County to seven points in the second half and pulled away for a 61-18 victory Friday in a Western Highlands Conference boys junior varsity basketball game at Polk.

The Wolverines dropped to 8-9 with the loss. Mountain Heritage improved to 14-0.

Davin Hines led Polk County with eight points, with Shaq Wingo and Bryson Edwards each scoring four. Edwards also had four rebounds.

Brett Bagwell added two points for the Wolverines, who travel Tuesday to Madison for another WHC matchup.
