Polk County encountered an emotionally charged Owen squad on Friday, the Warhorses exploding for 40 points in the second half on Senior Night to take a 64-35 victory in Swannanoa.

Trailing 24-21 at halftime, Polk County (5-17, 5-6) saw Owen (3-19, 3-9) go on a 20-4 run to open the second half and steadily pull away for the victory.

“They went on a run and it just snowballed,” said Polk County head coach Josh McEntire.
