Polk County High, Middle School basketball, wrestling events postponed

Winter weather rolling into the mountains of Western North Carolina has again affected Polk County High and Middle School athletic schedules.

Tuesday’s night high school basketball and wrestling contests with Madison have been postponed. Those games will now be played on Wednesday, Jan. 29. Polk originally planned to play West Henderson on that date, but those games will likely not be rescheduled, according to Polk County athletic director Jeff Wilson.

Polk County’s wrestling match at Madison, meanwhile, has been rescheduled for Thursday.

Polk County Middle School’s basketball games at Bethel Middle and wrestling match at home with Bethel Middle have also been postponed.
