Polk County sophomore Jamal Tanner and senior Anthony Carson earned selection to the Times-News All-Area boys basketball squad.
Tanner, an all-Western Highlands Conference selection, scored a team-high 18.3 points per game and also averaged 4.3 assists. He missed a portion of the season due to a broken bone in his hand.
Carson, also an all-WHC pick, averaged 11.2 points, five rebounds, three steals and 2.4 assists per game.

Hendersonville’s Cody Westmoreland was named the All-Area player of the year.
