Polk County’s Kropp, Carson named to WHC all-tournament teams

Polk County sophomore Hayley Kropp and senior Anthony Carson received selection to the Western Highlands Conference all-tournament teams, announced Friday night at the conclusion of the tournament at Hendersonville High School.

Kropp scored 39 points in two WHC games, 25 of those in the Wolverines’ first-round win over Owen. Carson scored 24 points in two WHC games.

Mountain Heritage downed Avery 57-33 on Friday to win the girls tourney. The Cougars’ Destiny Elkins was named the tournament’s most valuable player. In boys play, Avery defeated Mountain Heritage 46-40 to win that title.
