Polk County’s basketball squads will have to wait one more day before returning to the court, as Tuesday’s games with Avery County have been postponed.
The Wolverines and Vikings will now stage their Western Highlands Conference games on Wednesday at Polk County, with junior varsity games beginning at 4 p.m and varsity games slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.
The delay will stretch Polk County’s break since its last games to 20 days, the Wolverines having last played on Dec. 19.
