Polk boys pull away in second half to defeat Eagles, 60-43

Polk County turned a halftime deadlock into a runaway victory, outscoring East Henderson 39-22 in the second half en route to a 60-43 win in boys basketball action at East Henderson.

The Wolverines (1-0) took control of their season opener in the third period, building a seven-point lead, then outscored the Eagles 21-11 in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

Jaron Bontrager scored 15 points and Jamal Tanner had 12 for the Wolverines, who are now off until Dec. 3, when they host North Henderson.
