Polk County scored 35 points in the fourth quarter but couldn’t complete a comeback in a 94-86 loss to Owen in Tuesday’s Western Highlands Conference boys basketball clash at Polk.
Owen (11-7, 4-3 WHC) led 71-51 entering the fourth quarter before the Wolverines mounted their rally. Owen’s Asante Martin led all scorers with 32 points, and the Warhorses connected on 11 3-pointers in the game.
Khristian Littlejohn led Polk County (3-13, 0-6 WHC) with 28 points. Nate Fagan added 17 points with five 3-pointers, Aaron Jackson scored 15 and Khalil Austin had eight. Littlejohn had 10 points in the fourth quarter and Fagan and Austin each scored eight in the Wolverines’ furious rally.

Ross Dow finished with six points for Polk, Chase Stansbury had four and Brady Carroll, Luke Garrison, Jesse Moore and Blake Anderson each added two.
The Wolverines finished with nine 3-pointers.
Polk County travels to Brevard on Wednesday for a non-conference game.
