Brevard built a late cushion and held on to defeat Polk County 37-30 in boys junior varsity basketball action on Tuesday at Polk County.
Brett Phipps scored 14 points for the Wolverines (0-1), with Rustin Muse adding eight. Jaylin Bontrager had five points, Kendal Wilkins scored two and Malik Miller had one for Polk.
In girls play, the Blue Devils rolled to a 33-13 win.
