Improving Wolverines stopped by hot-shooting North boys squad

1 min read

The improvement continues for Polk County’s boys basketball squad. Now the Wolverines would just like to see that progress translate into a win.

Polk County stayed with North Henderson for a half Wednesday night, but the Knights sizzled from the field in the second half and pulled away for a 78-55 win in non-conference action at North Henderson.

The Wolverines (0-5) trailed 29-28 at the half, but North Henderson hit seven 3-pointers in the second half to pull away. Ryan Decker, averaging seven points per game, scored 29 to lead North (3-2).

“We played some of our best basketball on defense, but in the second half North came out on fire and we had no answer” said Polk County head coach Josh McEntire.

“We keep getting better. We just have to play four solid quarters.”

Freshman Arnie Twitty scored 17 points to lead Polk County, who open Western Highlands Conference play on Friday, hosting Madison.
