Eagle JVs pull away in final minutes to best Wolverines

East Henderson used a late run to pull away from Polk County and hand the Wolverines a 30-22 setback in Tuesday’s junior varsity boys basketball matchup at Polk.

The game was tied 19-19 late in the third quarter before the Eagles (2-1) scored six straight points. Keyan Simpson’s basket with 4:31 remaining cut the deficit to 25-21, but East Henderson outscored Polk County 5-1 the rest of the way to seal the victory.

RJ Simpson led the Wolverines (0-3) with nine points. Dre Thompson added six, Simpson scored four, Jackson Blotner had two and Brennan Oates finished with one.
